Rhododendron Dark Lord
From Weston Nurseries in Massachusetts. The flower is deep, burgundy red, and has dark green foliage. Never named by them, Dan Meier coined ‘Dark Lord’ on a visit to Wayne Mezitt at Weston’s.
A sibling to the dark purple ‘Tapestry,’ the original plant by Wayne’s garage is about 8 feet high and 12 feet across.
Best in partial sun, with well drained, humitic soil, and regular water.
