Morus rotundiloba Mojo Berry®
This dwarf, compact mulberry variety reaches a height of 5-7′, making it suitable for any garden. Mojo Berry® produces sweet, edible, black colored berries over a very long period, from May until September. Mojo Berry® mulberry requires no chilling hours to set fruit, so it is a great choice for edible gardens in USDA zones 7-10. Mojo Berry® is beautiful as a solitary specimen on a terrace or patio but also in the border or a mixed container. Very early fruiting. Will even set fruit in the nursery pot, with flavor improving with maturity.
Mojo Berry® received a Retailers Choice Award at the 2024 Farwest Trade Show. Named the Chelsea Plant of the Year award for 2017 by the Royal Horticultural Society under the name ‘Charlotte Russe.’
Plant Mojo Berry® in a fertile, well-drained soil with full sun. Hardy to USDA zone 7 when grown in-ground. Plants grown in-ground in good soil can expect a mature height of 7′ with a 3′ spread. Container plants may be shorter, to 5′ with a spread of 2′.
