Carex eburnea Bristle-leaved Sedge

Carex eburnea is a cool-season plant that can be used as a lawn alternative.  Soft, green, thread like foliage forms a small clump.  Spring whitish green flowers are insignificant.  Native to North America, from Nova Scotia to Alaska and as far south as Central Mexico.  Handles a wide range of growing conditions, from wet riparian zones to rocky bluffs.  Cold hardy to USDA zone 2.

Nice in rock gardens and as accent plants in smaller gardens.
