Arctostaphylos uva-ursi x nummularia Emerald Carpet
Carpet Manzanita is an excellent low growing, drought tolerant, groundcover. Requires occasional irrigation to look it’s best. Brilliant green leaves on cinnamon-red stem adorn very thick, uniform plants, that hold their color well. White flowers yield red fruit.
It has been noted that Emerald Carpet is less inclined to suffer leaf spots and die back than other manzanita when planted in heavier soils and given regular irrigation.
Full sun to partial shade.
Attracts butterflies, bees, and birds.
